Based in Park City, Utah, Big River Builders is the pursuit of an ideal. It's not about a specific body of water, rather a continuous flow of information and best practices that allows us as builders to work with the basic principles of science to build better living and working spaces.

Big River Builders utilizes industry-leading design, building modeling, estimating, energy modeling, and project management platforms to ensure that every custom project benefits from proper up front planning and continuous flow of information. Big River is equally adept at ground up construction and renovation projects. Beyond construction, many of our clients continue to utilize our services after initial occupancy and retain Big River to expand and maintain their legacy properties.

Scott Johnson
Scott Johnson is a hands-on builder with dual degrees in Engineering (Ole Miss '93) and Building Energy Management (SLCC '14). After moving to Park City in 1994, Scott trained and worked as a carpenter while learning the artisan skill of laying- out and building houses. Over the course of three decades he has developed a sophisticated proprietary approach to project management. Scott's integrity is founded upon the bedrock of his upbringing. As a young adult, he asked his hero (his father), "What have you found to be the most important ingredient in your success?" His father responded, "follow through".
Todd Hunter
Todd Hunter is a master craftsman with a lifetime of experience managing hundreds of custom home project and full building renovations. Todd is the on-site principal for every Big River project, delivering his 40 years of construction expertise to every detail of your project from the ground up. Todd is adept with all aspects of custom construction, which allows him to guide your project through all stages of construction with poise and efficiency. Todd is equally talented structurally, mechanically, and aesthetically. His deep knowledge and legendary abilities allow Big River to take any project from vision to reality.
Eric Miller
Eric Miller has been building high performance thermal enclosures and furthering the integrated-design-build process since 1995. Eric serves as a project manager on Big River's projects and is especially tuned in to projects engaged in certification programs such as LEED, Living Building Challenge, Passive Haus, or Net Zero Energy. With a geology degree from Amherst College, Eric combines his science mind with his building experience to deliver you a comfortable building that sips energy.
Brockman Brunini
Brockman Brunini is a multi-talented graduate of the University of Mississippi with experience in construction estimating, finance, and project management. Brockman supports the flow of Big River projects serving as a liaison between the field and the office, ensuring execution of project details.

Our Past
For much of the last 30 years Scott , Todd and Eric have developed independently as builders (SKJ LLC, Ryan Builders, and Miller Integrated Design) having the opportunity to collaborate closely on several custom projects along the way. In 2022 a confluence of the individual businesses gave way to the ongoing pursuit that is Big River Builders, LLC.
Our Present
Big River Builders considers its team of carpenters/site supervisors and office support as the most valuable aspect of the business and benefits greatly from their combined training and experience. These craftsmen were hired and retained over time and have been working together on average for 12+ years.
